Our Sixth Form Curriculum can be accessed below. A subject information sheet has been created for each of the courses on offer to give further information about the course content and how the course is examined.

Core Pathway - An Exciting New Curriculum for 2025!

Students select a Core Principle, allowing them to focus on their chosen area of study, and then select from a bank of core options to fill out the rest of their timetable for a total of three A-Levels or equivalent. Students also have the option of selecting a fourth option, should they wish.

Entry Requirements

To study our Sixth Form curriculum, students must achieve 5 GCSE Passes (Grade 4 or above) including English and Maths.

Students opting to study A-Level Mathematics will need to achieve a Grade 7 or above at GCSE.

Students opting to study A-Level Physics will need to achieve a Grade 5 or above at GCSE.

Foundation Pathway 

We also offer a Foundation Pathway. The Foundation Pathway allows students who may need to resit their GCSE English and Maths, do so whilst also working towards a BTEC Level 2 in Construction and Engineering.

Note: to follow this path, students must have achieved a minimum of a Grade 3 in GCSE English and Mathematics, with good attendance and a suitable reference from your current school.

PSHRE/RSE

PSHE education at Waterfront UTC is a planned, developmental programme of learning through which students acquire the knowledge, understanding and skills they need to manage their lives now and in the future. As part of a whole-school approach, PSHE education develops the qualities and attributes students need to thrive as individuals, family members and members of society.

We deliver our statutory responsibility through Company Time, Assemblies and Drop Down Days.
