U15 Kent Cup Fixture Match Report
The new football season kicked off today with our year 9 & 10 involved in the U15 Kent Cup. We took a journey to Meopham School where they boys were in high spirits with their new school kit courtesy of Lauramy Shipping Ltd. It was a fairly even game throughout, but we found ourselves 2-0 down at half-time and hadn't really put our foot on the gas yet. A quick half-time talk and the fire and motivation was back. The energy from the whole team had changed and both sides continued to push. Charlie broke into the box but was fouled giving us a penalty.... 2-1 game on! Unfortunately, today was not our day and the game ended 4-1 with both goals within the last 10minutes of the match. For a team who have never played or trained together they put in a great performance and once they have had time to 'gel' and build that team cohesion I can see good things coming. Players voted for 'Man of the Match' and this went to Harvey who put in a fantastic CDM effort.
On a positive this is the first time we have ever been in the Kent Cup, we have a brand new kit (see the picture of the boys showing off their numbers) and we have many more games to show how good we are. I look forward to the rest of the season.
